After five years in its current building, Link realized it was time for the school library to be reorganized and hosted an afternoon of service in October to begin the process. With volunteers from the International Insurance Charitable Foundation and Planet Honda working alongside Link scholars, books have been sorted and categorized for placing back on the shelves. Volunteers will return this winter to complete the project, which will help students more readily locate books in the library.
There is another opportunity to volunteer for literacy at Link! Bridge of Books and a few other organizations are donating age-appropriate books for our students’ Winter Reading Challenge and their personal home libraries. Volunteers will gather at Link on Saturday, December 15 from 10 am to 3 pm to categorize the books by reading level and prepare them for students to take home. If you would like to join us for the day…or even part of the day…please email Natalia Sardo at nsardo@linkedupartners.org.
