Born in Waycross, Georgia, but reared in Jersey City, New Jersey, Dr. Michele Scott inherited an incredible work ethic from her mother who passed away at a young age. Dr. Michele Scott is passionate about domestic and global issues, policies, culture, business, education, learning, teaching, and social progress. Her global interests and work began in the IT field at Deutsche Bank, and has transitioned to Global Education as Executive Vice Dean in China for Rutgers University Newark, where she serves as a teaching dean for over 700 students. Dr. Scott is a higher education professor and administrator, a student adviser, a course developer, and student research director. She teaches courses in Business, Management, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Six Sigma, Ethics, Leadership, Urbanization & Globalization, and Public Administration in the United States, China, and France. Her course facilitation is Face-to-Face in Changchun, China, virtual and hybrid as an Assistant Professor, and Adjunct Professor for New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) and Colorado Technology University (CTU). Dr. Scott is a visiting lecturer at IESEG University in France for which she developed and teaches a course: 21st Century Global Supply Chain Management – Relationship Era and LIXIN University in Shanghai.
Michele began her involvement with Link over a decade ago, starting Career Day programs to connect students with career choices, as well as facilitating multiple STEM, STEAM, and Entrepreneurship programs. She has introduced a number of others to Link as volunteers, elective teachers, and donors. Outside of Link, Michele has served as a board member for the NJIT alumni and the School of Management; Greater Newark Enterprise Corporation; and Project U.S.E. She also served as Treasurer for the Board of Directors at Harrison Park Towers Residential Cooperative. She has trained and mentored 500+ entrepreneurs in the city of Newark through the Brick City Development Corporation and was a speaker at Tedx Broad Street. Michele has also worked with the Urban League of Essex County delivering various training programs, assisted in Job Creation and as a business trainer with Garden State Urban Farms at the Branch Brook Park Greenhouses. Michele is a 2011 alumna of Leadership Newark and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., North Jersey Alumnae Chapter as well as The Bethany Baptist Church in Newark.
Michele earned a BS Degree with Deans List Honors in Business Administration from Delaware State University where she was a celebrated athlete in Track and Field for the Shot Put and the Javelin. She has also earned a Master of Science in Management degree from NJIT and a Doctor of Education from The George Washington University,  in with a specialization in Human Resource Development. Her awards include being the recipient of the Servant Leadership Award at the George Washington University and multiple Faculty Excellence Awards in the United States and in China – including the Foreign Expert of the year award in Jilin Province in China. She holds dear her role of aunt to 3 nieces: Madison, Niyana, Victoria, and nephew, Nikhil and as well as that of dean, professor, and friend to her students in China.
