Workshop: Stretch for Your Health
Stretching improves performance, reduces inflammation, helps to relieve pain and injury, and increases your overall well-being. However, it is often neglected. Without stretching, our tendons, ligaments, and muscles shorten and cause damage over time making us less flexible and more susceptible to injury. Marissa McLoughlin, manager of Stretch Recovery Lounge in Montclair and a Graduate student in Sports Administration at William Patterson University, will provide guests with an eye-opening educational session. Marissa will educate us on deficits in muscle functioning and teach us helpful exercises to improve our mobility while we participate in everyday activities such as walking, jogging, golf, or lifting groceries!
