The Rosens have been involved with Link in a number of ways. They have been generously donating their uniquely NJ Ironbound Hard Cider, made from apples from their farm, to guests at A Taste of Newark for a number of years. In addition, the Rosens invited groups of Link students to participate in a “farm-to-table” experience at their New Ark Farm where students planted crops in the spring, harvested them in the fall, and then prepared and ate a delicious meal. It was terrific hands-on learning for our urban students! The Rosens involvement at Link arises from their strong social, economic, and environmental consciousness. In business and in life, they work to strengthen the local food economy, farm to “heal the land,” and employ the underemployed, paying them living wages and providing a nurturing work environment.
