Thanks to all who contributed to the success of this year’s A Taste of Newark on November 9th! It was a wonderful evening at 23 Pennsylvania Avenue, where we honored Adriana and Chris Dunn, were inspired by Link alumnus Jerome Brown ’04, and engaged in “conversations” on the key elements of a Link education. The conversation topics included Link’s literacy initiatives and math strategies to improve student success, how performing arts helps Link students reach their potential, how Camp Link reduced summer learning loss for our rising first and second graders this past summer, how a Link elective class can stimulate young minds and promote 21st Century skills, and how Link’s unique high school placement process is seen through the eyes of a parent and alumni. All funds raised at this event provide some, if not all, of the areas covered in the conversation topics and much more, including the school’s facilities and staff professional development. Guests seemed pleased with the opportunity to meet staff, to learn about the school – and to see how their investments promote a successful learning environment.
